Dr. Nancy Scanlan is a holistic veterinarian. She practices complementary medicine by combining the best of conventional and holistic treatments. She finds that holistic methods are especially useful for chronic diseases, and one of the best contributions of conventional medicine is the array of laboratory tests available. Dr. Scanlan has practiced veterinary medicine since 1970. During that time she has also taught, lectured, and written extensively about holistic medicine. She has written many magazine articles and has been featured in numerous newspaper and magazine articles. Dr. Scanlan specializes in nutritional and Chinese Herbal medicine, and acupuncture and trigger point therapies. Also included in her repertoire are chiropractic, homeopathy, and western herbs. She believes in complementary medicine, using the best of allopathic and holistic methods. She is a member of the American Holistic Veterinary Association, the American Veterinary Chiropractic Association, the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society, the American Veterinary Medical Association, and the California Veterinary Medical Association.
